In order to be flexible in the pursuit of a career as a clinician scientist, it is important for trainees to minimize debt. Students accepted into the MD/PhD Program are guaranteed financial support for the duration of their studies. Stipends are competitive with other programs nationwide and increase as the student progresses. The current yearly stipend level is $25,000 and increases to $26,000 after students pass graduate program qualifying exams.
In addition students also receive individual health care coverage, medical malpractice insurance, tuition remission and waiver of all fees. Thus, the student benefits package totals nearly $50,000 per year.
